WHY CITGO IS INTRODUCING THE CITGO GREENWAY PROGRAM
Both on-road and off-road heavy-duty equipment applications are being impacted by the increase in fuel costs like never before.  The transportation industry is experiencing an unprecedented paradigm shift employing many innovative strategies, including the use of alternative fuels, fuel-saving synthetic lubricant technology and operational practices that reduce the crushing burden of increased fuel costs.  An industry paradigm shift along with these types of initiatives are at the heart of the CITGO GreenWay Program, so fleet companies can optimize an economic balance combined with becoming a "green" fleet to reduce the carbon footprint in the environment.
WHAT "GREEN" FLEETS SAVE BY ADOPTING THE CITGO GREENWAY PROGRAM

CITGARD® SynDurance® and CITGARD SynDurance Plus are full synthetic, 5W-40 CJ-4 heavy-duty engine oils featuring a balanced blend of synthetic base oils, including PAO that provides optimum fuel economy, service life and temperature application range.  They are formulated with the CITGO Soot Arrest Additive System to control increased levels of soot loading in newer low-emission diesel engines.  CITGARD SynDurance and CITGARD SynDurance Plus have anti-wear technology proven to reduce wear in the most severe conditions.

OverDrive® HD Grease is a unique, dual-hybrid lithium grease that produces superior corrosion and water protection.  It is formulated with heavy base oils to reduce water washout and leakout and has a unique corrosion resistant additive system to fight highway anti-icing chemicals.  It has the most aggressive anti-wear system ever developed for a truck chassis.

QuatraSyn® Synthetic ATF is a full synthetic, high-performance transmission fluid that can extend both heavy-duty transmission life and service intervals up to four times longer than conventional automatic transmission fluids while improving fuel economy.  It is formulated with PAO synthetic technology and combined with additive technology to deliver the performance equivalent of TES type fluid.

SynDurance® Synthetic Gear Oils are full PAO synthetic gear oils with an advanced wear protection system.  They offer additional fuel savings of up to 3% or more as reported by Eaton, a leading manufacturer of drive line components.  When combined with products such as CITGARD® SynDurance Heavy Duty Engine Oil or QuatraSyn® Synthetic ATF, the EPA SmartWay group has reported fuel savings up to 5% and a reduction of pollutants by 5 metric tons annually for each class 8 truck on the road.

CITGARD® 700 Engine Oil SAE 15W-40 is formulated with a selection of premium quality base stocks, and is designed to protect 2007 and older model low-emissions engines equipped with exhaust after-treatment systems and other new design features or for equipment requiring API CJ-4 heavy duty requirements as well as existing API CI-4 PLUS and earlier categories.

The LubeAlert® Oil Analysis Program is a state-of-the-art electronic oil analysis program that allows fleet managers to gain full value from each member of the GreenWay Family of Lubricants.  LubeAlert allows fleet managers to safely optimize service life and take full advantage of extended lubricant life capability.  Unlike most lubricant companies who contract out to commercial labs, CITGO has highly qualified lab technicians that perform oil analysis in its own lab.  The program manages more than 160,000 engines and more than 1,700 fleets, with all makes and models of diesel engines and a vast database allowing CITGO to develop trends on virtually all types of diesel engines.
